The 2022 Players Championship has the potential to get very weird on Saturday on the heels of a wild first two days at TPC Sawgrass. After long delays on both Thursday and Friday that halted the action early, Round 1 has still not completed as players will finish up the remainder of their opening rounds starting no earlier than noon on Saturday.
As a result, the beginning of Round 2 is now pushed into the late afternoon and evening, and heavy wind is expected for much of the day at TPC Sawgrass — making this already bizarre tournament even crazier. A Monday finish for this week’s event is not only expected, but now a hopeful conclusion.
Regardless, there’s still golf to be played, and golf will be played … at some point. Tommy Fleetwood, Brice Garnett and Tom Hoge co-lead at 6 under, but some big names are on the chase. Daniel Berger is just one back. Dustin Johnson and Scottie Scheffler are two back. Will Zalatoris, Jon Rahm and Louis Oosthuizen are three back. And some golfers — like Justin Thomas, who is currently 2 under but has only played 15 holes — still have a bit to clean up on Saturday morning and afternoon.
What will go down? Check out the scores at the top of the page, check out our full coverage guide and keep on reading for live updates and highlights from the third day of action of the 2022 Players Championship.

Bubba makes par at No. 14 to keep a 4-under round going. He and JT are the only bogey-free players, according to the broadcast. Massive opportunity to really get in the mix on this leaderboard if he can figure out how to par in.

JT has every shot. What a pleasure this round has been. He just hit a cut driver on No. 4 than ran almost all the way to the water. Up and down from there to get to -3.

I’d be curious to ask other players and even caddies this question, but I have to think Justin Thomas has more shots than any other golfer in the world. We’re seeing them all today.

Rory just shot a 36 that didn’t feel that great, and he picked up three and a half on the field.

If you’re under par on the back nine today, you’re gaining at least four strokes on the field.

Wow, Scheffler closes his first nine of the second round 6-6-5-5 for a 41 to fall way out of contention. This wave is just going to be almost impossible to overcome.

Kisner plays the last two in 1 over (which is gaining strokes on the field). That drops him to 5 under for the week and one back of the lead.
